May - National Hambuger Month!

Posted by Burgers For Brunch | Posted in , ,

Obviously May is our favorite month here at b4b and we hope everyone is enjoying great burgers all month long. In celebration of National Hamburger Month, White Castle is inviting burger fans from all over to submit their best craving story for a chance to join the likes of The Smithereens and Harold and Kumar in the Cravers Hall of Fame.

Visit the contest page here and don't forget to mention b4b as a daily inspiration for your burger cravings.

White Castle has been the official sponsor of National Hamburger month, which is 17 years going strong. In 1992, White Castle sponsored National Hamburger Week, in honor of the brand's claim to being the first hamburger fast food chain in the US. In 1993, the event was extended to National Hamburger Month.

These dogs ARBETTER that yours!

Posted by Burgers For Brunch | Posted in ,

A Miami institution since 1960, Arbetter serves the best hot dogs in Miami. Many famous athletes, including A-ROD, come here for their famous chili or kraut dogs. The hot dogs here are boiled not grilled and the inside of the joint has not changed much since it moved to its current location in 1972. You still get to sit in the elementary school chairs, free refills when you say "I love Larry Bird" or "I love Bob Cousy" and free baked beans the day after the Boston Red Sox win the World Series. When it finally happened in 2004, the line wrapped around the building.

The King would also eat here when he worked in Miami in the 60's and 70's.

Obama and Biden really wanted burgers today. They took the motorcade to a local burger joint in Arlington, Virginia called Ray's Hell Burger. Only one issue: they don't serve fries! Obama really wanted fries but settled on some cheesy tater puffs.

Free Domino's Pasta Bowl for Lunch Today [4/29/09] 11:00am-2:00pm

Posted by Burgers For Brunch | Posted in ,

It's not on Domino's website, apparently it's from their email notification. I'd call to make sure your local Domino's is doing it before heading out. I just checked with mine, and they ARE PARTICIPATING! AWESOME! The dude said to just swing by to get one.

I'm actually pretty curious as to what they taste like. I think I'll try the Chicken Carbonara one...

KFC Unfried?

Posted by Burgers For Brunch | Posted in ,

It seems that KFC is finally trying to jump on the health bandwagon and is so confident on their new grill approach that today they are giving away one piece of chicken to everyone that walks through the restaurant.

I actually went ahead and tried the unfried side of KFC last week and I must admit the colonel still has a lot to go if they want to win the war.

There is however one loyal soldier in the colonels army that will fight to the end...

We the people...eat at People's

Posted by Burgers For Brunch | Posted in ,

Open since 1962, People's Bar-B-Que is a Miami institution located in the Overtown area of Miami right off I-95. The friendly staff serves great Southern food and BBQ, in large portions at low prices (mention their website and you receive a 5% discount). It is very difficult to find good Southern food in Miami which is probably the reason this place has been around for so long. The BBQ chicken and ribs are excellent!
You can dine in or order takeout. Most patrons are from the local neighborhood or people working in Downtown. Most others have never even heard of the place but now the people have spoken!
